From the tender age of 7, electrical and electronics were my calling. I have always had the strong desire to see electrical systems work. With that in mind, I obtained a higher certificate in System Engineering in 2011 at PC Training And Business College. I completed my electrical engineering N1 to N6 from 2012 to 2014 at Central Johannesburg College. I also studied Process Instrumentation through Unisa until my second year however, due to financial challenges, I was unable to complete my degree.
My will remained strong which resulted in me not giving up. Despite my circumstances, I managed obtain my Trade test. I am currently in the process of acquiring my Wireman’s license and Solar Green Card. In 2014 after my technical college days, I seeked employment at electrical companies and was fortunate to be employed at Hansa Engineering (Pty) Ltd as an Electrical Technician. 3 months later, my desire for growth pushed me to sacrifice my lunch money to purchase tools which included a grinder, a drilling machine, a multi-meter and more. The desire to be an entrepreneur motivated me to empower myself and those around me. I have a constant desire for growth and improvement which still lives in me to this day.
After a year and a half of working at Hansa Engineering, in 2016 I resigned to pursue my dream of running my own business. I started off by repairing electrical appliances such as kettles, irons, stoves and heaters. Business was not as simple and it was a struggle to build a reputable one from scratch. I started working for subcontractors and used that time to gain more experience in the field and realized that you may have education, but experience is just as important. 2 years later in 2018, I went back into business. With the knowledge and experience that I gained from my mentors, I registered my business, Geex At Work (Pty) Ltd in 2019. I am now equipped and together with my team, we are ready to grow as I have always envisioned.
